iPad and iPad 2 - How to Import Music and DVDs Into iTunes


Downloading music and videos from the iTunes Store (or directly to your iPad or on your computer) is fine, but if you already own the media then you are not going to want to pay for it. You can "rip" music CDs and DVDs, and import them into iTunes as a solution to this problem. Once in iTunes, you can sync the same songs and movies on your iPad and / or second IPAD

How to Import CD

To begin, insert the CD of your choice into the computer. In most cases, within a few seconds you will find the artist, song and album names appear immediately. This should create a new copy of the file in your iTunes library allowing you then delete the original file on your computer.
