So how do you blog with Facebook?

Blogging from Facebook Notes

a real blogging tool to use on Facebook's Notes application. It is not directly available as a Status feature. You can find notes on the application list on their Facebook home page, on the left column (click more if it does not appear at first). To publish your blog post or a "Note", as it is called in Facebook:

  1. open the note card.
  2. Click the Add Note.
  3. Make a note in the Notes editor.
  4. Click Publish.

This could not be simpler than that. You can format text in bold, italic, underline, bullets or numbers and quotes. You can insert hyperlinks and attach photos. Each note can be saved as a draft, delete and clear. You can mark your friends in your notes and you can label as well.

Blogging with Facebook statuses

Until recently, the Facebook status feature was not good enough only for a few hundred characters --- enough to make a short update. However, in late 2011, Facebook raised this limit. Now you can post statuses as 60,000 characters. It's more than enough for a blog entry!

This change is beneficial for people who love to discover the long thoughts. Given that status to get more exposure from the notes on the blog stand a better chance of getting attention than the old notes.

s Status in the blog:

  1. Go to the News on the left column Facebook home page, or go to your profile.
  2. Click on the box that says: "What's on your mind ?"
  3. type your blog post.
  4. Click the Post.

and that's all there is to it. Nothing fancy. But beware of using the status features of blogging too. People are accustomed to short update in the news. Do not publish a thousand word post and expect your friends to read every word of it. Use the new characters wisely.
