Alexa And Google PageRank - When To Check Your Website's Stats?

>...

In order to measure how fast your site is getting traffic, you need to know what to check for and more importantly, when you check out. Two things that matter so special to advertisers when they evaluate your site Alexa Rank and Google PageRank.

If you have an Alexa Rank is less than 100 000, it simply means that your site is in the top 0.1 percentile as an indicator that your site has a huge amount of traffic, but the quality of your site depends on the quality back-links there are other high quality web sites. This is where Google PageRank plays a very important role.

Google shares their page ranks between 1-10. Typically web pages rank at least 4 are considered very high in quality, while those with a page rank 6 or more are considered to be great. It is very difficult to get a Page Rank higher than 6, unless you're a big company or maybe even the search engines.

This brings us to the main topic today, when you should check your web stats? Alexa update their ranks every night, usually around midnight, so this means that if you left "DoFollow" commented on the high quality blogs, then an hour later to check your Alexa Rank, simply will not see any difference. You must wait until Alexa updates its database.

Also, if you leave your comments after the Alexa crawler has visited that website and check all the new connections come out of it, and then waiting for the midnight update still will not help, because Alex had already visited that website this one day, you're going to have to wait until the next visit to Alexa on the next day. Keep in mind that the part Alex estimate on your web site includes how many people visited your site, and have Alexa tool bar installed.

Now, if you think that Google page ranks of any easier, think again! Google usually updates its ranks every few months, usually several times a year. So, if you keep a check on Google PageRank everyday especially if you are a new website, you will get discouraged and disappointed every time I checked, not only because it is very difficult to get a ranking with Google, it also takes a long time.

Make sure you do your site before any search engine promotion (at least Google), or other services (like Alex) visit your site to promote in order to convert it to this day update cycle.
